800-639-6725The Medical Assistant program at North-West College in Glendale provides the essential education and hands-on training you need to begin a rewarding new career working in a medical clinic, doctor's office, chiropractic office, HMO, rehabilitation center or other health care facility. This program focuses on teaching the skills and best practices health care employers are looking for, including preparing patients for examinations, checking and monitoring vital signs, performing diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, front office skills and more.
As a Medical Assistant, you will prepare patients to see the doctor, take blood pressures, and record medical histories. You will also set up the examination room, give immunizations, take EKG's and perform various lab tests. On the administrative side, you will help schedule appointments, order supplies, fill out insurance forms, and maintain patient charts.
