Pharmacy Technicians are skilled professionals trained to perform clerical duties and tasks related to preparing and dispensing of pharmaceutical drugs under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, working in pharmacy labs, hospitals, retail pharmacies, drug stores, nursing homes and other pharmacy settings.
The Pharmacy Technician program at North-West College is a hands-on training program designed to teach you the skills you need to begin a working as a Pharmacy Technician. Topics covered by this program include processing patient prescriptions, transcribing physician’s orders, calculating doses, using drug distribution systems, preparing IVs, packaging medications, filling patient cassettes, proper labeling and more.
