WEST COVINA, Calif.—Preparations are complete for SEC’s third annual Professional Development Conference (PDC), slated for Friday, December 6 at the Ontario Convention Center. The one-day conference brings together the Colleges’ Team Members, leadership, and guest presenters—all with the goal of equipping staff and faculty with useful tools to help them remain on the leading edge of private-sector education.
“Our first two conferences were truly remarkable and we are excited to continue to invest in our Team Members as they continue to change our Students’ lives each and every day,” President Mitchell Fuerst explained. “We firmly believe that ‘Our Students Are at Their Best When We’re At Our Best’!”
The schedule for this year’s event is packed with an incredible lineup of presenters, including Opening General Session speaker Matthew Stewart, Co-founder and CEO of National Service Group, which operates College Works Painting. Attendees will also hear from Tom Leu, MS/CPC, Founder of The Education Edge™, during the Midday General Session. Leu brings a decade of experience as a former instructor and academic dean and is a dynamic corporate and collegiate trainer.
The day’s events will close with a number of Annual Team Member Recognitions, including Years of Service Awards and Campuses of Distinction, among others. Along with the general sessions, Team Members will also have the opportunity to personalize the day by selecting from 15 different Learning Labs covering a variety of relevant topics. This year, the labs will follow three different tracks—Nursing and Faculty Development, Leadership, and Compliance—allowing Team Members to choose what best fits their learning goals and their role in the organization.
“Our Team Members are the reason we have been able to carry our mission to ‘Train students in short-term programs for gainful employment’ forward for more than 50 years,” Fuerst shared. “This Professional Development Conference is another chance for them to learn and grow in their roles at SEC as they continue to make a positive impact on our Students.”
